Emergency Monitoring of Fire in Cardinia, Australia by CRESDAPublishDate:2022-07-27

  On March 10th, 2019, the National Disaster Mitigation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management proposed a satellite emergency imaging requirement for the Cardinia fire in Australia. The China Resources Satellite Application Center immediately activated the natural disaster emergency response mechanism to monitor the Cardinia fire in Australia, and quickly called GF-4 and GF-1 satellites to observe the disaster area. Till March 11th, the disaster area has been observed 5 times, and the satellites have provided 24 scenes with valid data, and submited them to the National Disaster Reduction Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management as soon as possible. In the follow-up, multiple satellites will be arranged for imaging according to the disaster situation to provide strong support for disaster prevention and mitigation.
