　　GF-2 is the first civil optical remote sensing satellite with the resolution of being superior to 1m which is researched and developed by our nation independently, equipped with two multispectral scanners with 1m panchromatic and 4m high resolution respectively and characterized by sub-meter spatial resolution, high accuracy of positioning and rapid posture maneuverability to effectively promote the efficiency of satellite general observation and reach international advanced level. GF-2 was launched successfully on August 19, 2014, and then firstly started up to image and transmit data on August 21. It has been a civil land observation satellite with the highest resolution in China so far and sub-satellite point spatial resolution up to 0.8m, which symbolizes our remote sensing satellite enters into sub-meter “GF” era. Its key users include Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Transport of the PRC, State Forestry Administration and other departments. In addition, it also provides demonstration and application services for other users and relevant regions.
